Position Overview

We are looking for a meticulous and proficient Senior Accounting Specialist to become a vital member of our finance team. The successful applicant will play a key role in overseeing various accounting functions, ensuring precision and effectiveness in our financial operations.

Compensation: $60,000/year - $70,000/year (Based on experience)

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct analysis and reconciliation for general ledger accounts.
  • Generate financial data and reports for the monthly internal financial reporting package.
  • Examine account activities reported on the balance sheet.
  • Evaluate Profit and Loss statements against historical trends and anticipated outcomes.
  • Identify necessary monthly adjustment entries based on reviews and communicate findings to the Controller.
  • Prepare internal documentation including budgets, cash forecasts, and sales summaries.
  • Perform job cost analysis for completed projects and ongoing work.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of functions, processes, and reporting within the organization.
  • Analyze critical segments of information and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Collaborate on projects within the organization to enhance efficiency and accuracy in reporting.
  • Offer valuable insights into current and upcoming projects.
  • Assist in the creation, maintenance, and refinement of processes to ensure reporting efficiency and accuracy.
  • Contribute to special projects within the department and organization as assigned.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
  • 0-2 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Familiarity with generally accepted accounting and auditing principles.
  • Exceptional organizational and planning skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Capability to adapt to changing environments and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of accounting experience.
  • Robust organizational and analytical skills.
  • Comprehensive understanding of applicable laws, codes, and regulations.
  • Experience with Power BI for financial and accounting analysis.

COVID-19 Compliance

  • Must be fully vaccinated: 2 doses of Pfizer/Moderna or 1 dose of Johnson & Johnson, 2 weeks prior or more.
