Job Overview

CFO Hub is seeking a Full-time Senior Accounting Professional for a client in the Aviation and Aerospace Manufacturing sector. This role is not directly with CFO Hub. A reputable government contractor is in search of a controller to enhance their expanding team.

Reporting directly to the CFO, the Senior Accounting Professional is vital in maintaining the precision and reliability of financial records and reports. This role encompasses managing general ledger accounts, preparing financial statements in line with GAAP, overseeing accounts receivable and payable, and assisting in budgeting processes. Furthermore, the Senior Accounting Professional ensures adherence to regulatory standards, upholds internal financial controls, and prepares documentation for auditors and tax professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide accounting support to designated business units and serve as a liaison between accounting and other departments.
  • Maintain general ledger accounts, prepare journal entries, and conduct account reconciliations.
  • Facilitate accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Maintain and reconcile fixed asset schedules.
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions.
  • Assist in annual budget preparation and analyze actual versus budget variances.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal financial controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Lead audit processes and prepare necessary documentation for auditors.
  • Assist with tax filings and respond to inquiries from tax professionals.
  • Train other members of the accounting team.
  • Proactively identify areas for process enhancement to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Complete special projects as assigned to support corporate objectives.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience is required.
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles is essential.
  • CPA certification is preferred.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including knowledge of complex functions and formulas.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (CostPoint is a plus).
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple concurrent tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to interact professionally with employees at all organizational levels.
