Domestic Violence Advocate Role

The Helen Ross McNabb Center seeks a dedicated and compassionate Domestic Violence Advocate to join their team. As a key member of the center, you will work directly with men and women at the FCC Domestic Violence Shelter, providing crisis intervention, support, and advocacy services. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating care, facilitating trauma-informed support groups, and working closely with therapeutic service providers to ensure quality care for clients. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of survivors of domestic violence.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide crisis intervention and emergency services as needed.
- Facilitate weekly trauma-informed support group sessions.
- Coordinate care for adults and/or families within the shelter.
- Work closely with therapeutic service providers to ensure quality care for clients.
- Participate in state-wide trainings for DV trauma, as applicable.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in social services, counseling, child and family studies, or related field.
- 1-2 years of experience working with adults and/or families preferred.
- Knowledge of the dynamics and cycles of domestic violence and treatment interventions for trauma highly preferred.
Estimated Salary Range: $17.24-$22.00 per hour based on relevant experience and education.
