Position Overview:
The Sustainable Energy Systems Engineer will play a pivotal role in enhancing energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives within the university's extensive facilities. This position is integral to the university's mission of managing energy resources effectively across a vast infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Energy Assessments:
Conduct thorough energy assessments of commercial buildings, collaborating with the Energy Audit Program Manager to implement ANSI / ASHRAE / ACCA Standard 211 protocols. Prioritize audit activities and set clear objectives for energy conservation measures based on audit findings.

2. Retro-Commissioning Expertise:
Serve as a subject matter expert in Building Automation Systems (BAS) and retro-commissioning processes. Work closely with project managers to enhance the efficiency and operational flexibility of BAS across campus facilities.

3. Capital Project Evaluation:
Review and assess new construction and major renovation projects to ensure energy efficiency standards are integrated into design and construction practices. Act as a liaison between Energy Management and Design & Construction teams to align project scopes with energy reduction goals.

4. Energy Modeling:
Collaborate with design consultants to ensure compliance with sustainable building performance standards. Utilize advanced energy modeling software to evaluate major construction and renovation projects.

5. Project Support:
Provide engineering support for energy-related projects across campus, ensuring alignment with energy management objectives.

6. Communication and Outreach:
Effectively communicate complex technical information regarding energy engineering to diverse audiences. Deliver presentations and consultations on energy reduction initiatives.

Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field is required, along with relevant experience in energy systems, sustainability practices, and project management. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to foster professional relationships are essential.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in energy services or utility management, along with certifications such as Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Professional Engineer (PE), is highly desirable.
