Join Our Team as an Engineering Project Manager

We are seeking an Engineering Project Manager to lead our project/tender engineering team within the High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) division.

Your Role and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the entire project/tender engineering team to ensure all outputs align with contractual obligations, quality benchmarks, health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards, financial objectives, and timeline commitments.
  • Facilitate communication with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and partners regarding technical issues.
  • Plan, implement, and manage the interface with procurement and construction activities.
  • Ensure the project/tender is adequately staffed with skilled professionals and promptly escalate any concerns.
  • Effectively communicate and engage with all relevant internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, including design-related risks associated with local regulations.
  • Recognize scope changes and ensure that additional client requests are processed as variation orders, with thorough analysis of cost and time implications.
  • Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of policies and procedures by integrating best practices and insights from past experiences.

Your Qualifications

  • A University degree in Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
  • A minimum of 5 to 8 years of professional experience in project management or a related field, with managerial experience preferred.
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills, along with familiarity in contract interpretation.
  • Proven ability to inspire and motivate teams, coupled with effective coaching skills.
  • Experience in EPC projects and HVDC operations is advantageous.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is essential.
  • Experience in sales and tendering is highly desirable.
  • Site experience is also considered a significant asset.
  • Must possess valid work authorization to be employed by Hitachi Energy in the United States.
