About the Role:
Booth & Associates, LLC is looking for a Level II electrical engineering professional to become a vital part of our Renewables Studies and Utility System Planning team. In this role, you will conduct essential engineering analyses related to renewable energy and power utility planning. As a Project Engineer II, you will engage in a variety of responsibilities, providing technical insight and leadership to address design challenges, execute electrical system studies, and oversee project tasks with some guidance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a range of routine and complex tasks to resolve power utility design issues, ensuring effective communication within the design and project management teams.
  • Provide technical support on intricate problems while adhering to relevant standards, including IEEE, NESC, and NEC.
  • Lead the modeling, planning, and assessment of client transmission and distribution systems, ensuring that client needs are met efficiently and economically.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of peer work to uphold the company's commitment to quality.
  • Interface directly with clients and industry professionals, representing Booth & Associates with professionalism and a customer-focused approach.
  • Focus on a diverse array of studies related to electric utility and renewable integration, including but not limited to Power Quality, Arc Flash, Distributed Generation, Battery Energy Storage, Micro-grid, and Transient Analysis.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of both company and client standards.
  • Engage in Distribution System Analysis using Milsoft Engineering Analysis (EA) - WindMil software for Voltage, Fault, and Load Allocation assessments.
  • Participate in System Coordination Studies utilizing CYME - CYMTCC software to evaluate selective coordination between Over Current Protective Devices (OCPDs).
  • Manage various stages of system analysis, including scheduling and budgeting, with supervision.

Qualifications:
B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering is required, along with two to four years of relevant experience. Current Engineering Intern Certification is encouraged at this level.

Preferred Software Proficiency:
Experience with EMTP-RV, PSS/E, PSCAD, ETAP, SKM, EasyPower, CYMTCC, Milsoft EA WindMil, LightTable, and Office Suite is advantageous.
