About the Role

The Chief Advancement Officer (CAO) is a critical leadership position responsible for driving the College's fundraising and advancement efforts to unprecedented levels. This role offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of the largest campaign in liberal arts college history, the campaign, which aims to raise $1 billion to further position Colby as a national leader in liberal arts education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective fundraising strategies to meet and exceed campaign goals
  • Foster a diverse and inclusive working environment that promotes excellence in fundraising and advancement
  • Use data-driven insights to inform decision-making and drive results-oriented initiatives
  • Cultivate, solicit, and steward high-level prospects to ensure long-term philanthropic success
  • Lead and manage a team of experienced development professionals to achieve campaign objectives

Requirements

  • Proven track record in comprehensive campaign management and fundraising success
  • Exemplary interpersonal skills and ability to build strong relationships with donors, alumni, and stakeholders
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Minimum of ten years of fundraising and managerial experience
  • Flexibility to travel and participate in fundraising events
  • Bachelor's degree required
