We are seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer for our Winslow, ME office. This role will spearhead the Electrical Power Engineering initiatives for WM clients, primarily within the Electric Utility sector, while also providing engineering and project management assistance to our manufacturing facility in Winslow, ME, ensuring the simultaneous execution of various projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead engineering and design from project inception to completion
- Create customer-specific construction specifications
- Design conceptual P&C one-lines
- Develop detailed P&C one-lines and three-lines
- Produce comprehensive P&C schematics and wiring diagrams
- Implement NEC, IEEE, NFPA, ISO, NERC, OSHA, and other relevant regulations and standards in designs and installations
- Work on the intricate design of Industrial and Utility electrical systems across low, medium, and high voltage generation and distribution
- Support control enclosure manufacturing and design, including station electrical service, lighting, cable-tray, AC and DC load centers, battery sizing, and other facility design requirements
- Conduct detailed cost estimating for engineering, project management, and construction
- Prepare comprehensive proposals for contract engineering opportunities
- Draft detailed proposals for Owner's Engineer, Project Management, Construction Management, and Project Controls opportunities
- Guide junior staff and oversee engineering and design activities
- Maintain effective communication with WM clients and personnel, from technicians to senior management
- Interpret and enforce policies and procedures within the business unit
- Ensure project budgets are adhered to within the business unit
- Manage major proposal development when assigned
- Review and update red-line field drawings throughout the project lifecycle
- Troubleshoot 480VAC and MV distribution and motor control equipment
- Troubleshoot 125VDC distribution equipment
- Program and test various microelectronic relays (preferred but not mandatory)
Qualifications:
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology is required.
- Experience: A minimum of 10 years in Electrical T&D and/or P&C Engineering is required. Significant experience in Project Management and Construction Management is preferred. A Registered PE in Electrical Power or the ability to obtain licensure is desired.
- Skills: Proficient computing skills, including MS Project, Word, Excel, PPT, etc. Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential. Familiarity with electrical design software such as Aspen, SKM, ETAP, PLS-CADD, etc., is preferred.
Working Conditions: A hybrid mix of standard office environment and remote work, with frequent use of personal computers, facsimiles, copy machines, and other office equipment. The ability to travel for client/project needs is strongly preferred.
