Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Auditor to join our team at Assistance Plus. As a key member of our Quality Assurance department, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and developing policies and procedures to maintain high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and coordinate compliance assurance with applicable state licensing, reimbursement, and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform high-level auditing tasks, including reviewing treatment plans, comp assessments, trackers, and opening and annual paperwork for completeness and accuracy.
  • Develop and implement Agency policies and procedures as they relate to Quality Assurance.
  • Learn and navigate record systems and ensure they are maintained in accordance with regulatory and reimbursement requirements.
  • Perform and maintain the monthly BHHO audit and complete the monthly BHHO attestation.
  • Ensure effective internal controls are in place to assure compliance with applicable regulatory agencies.
  • Analyze data to identify areas of improvement in the quality system.
  • Assist in preparing annual reports to communicate the outcome of quality activities.
  • Support on-site audits conducted by external providers.
  • Evaluate audit findings and report back to the Director of BH Programs.
  • Audit client records in accordance with MaineCare, OADS, licensing, AMHI Consent Decree, OCFS, DLRS, and all other stakeholders' regulatory requirements.
  • Keep up to date with all related quality legislation and compliance issues.
  • Assist with providing orientation to new employees regarding QA Department and its responsibilities.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOP) for the department.
  • Act as the agency's HIPAA Compliance Officer.
Requirements
  • Proof of vehicle insurance at $50K/$100K and a valid Maine driver's license are required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; Associate's Degree preferred.
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Advanced skill level with Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
  • Minimum of five to ten years of experience in an auditing role.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • High level of attention to detail.
