Position Overview

The Senior Anesthesia Technician plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional patient care and assisting Anesthesiologists and Nurse Anesthetists during both routine and intricate procedures. This position is essential for maintaining high standards of patient safety and care quality.

Shift - Day or Evening

Hours - Full-time, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides assistance to anesthesia providers and supports Anesthesia Technicians at levels 1 and 2 as required.
  • Anticipates and addresses the needs of Anesthesiologists during invasive monitoring and procedures, including pulmonary artery catheterization and central venous access, in accordance with hospital protocols.
  • Operates cardiac output monitoring systems under the guidance of anesthesia providers, and monitors EKG for dysrhythmias as per hospital policy.
  • Conducts troubleshooting for medication label printers and adheres to Standard Work 22. Responsible for the upkeep, inventory, and sanitation of Anesthesia Workrooms and related supply areas.
  • Utilizes blood gas analyzers and identifies abnormal results following hospital guidelines. Assists in MSET resuscitation efforts and during trauma and Mass Transfusion scenarios.
  • Inserts IVs and performs phlebotomy for laboratory specimens. Aids in the transport of patient monitoring equipment.
  • Facilitates the transportation of medications from the pharmacy or authorized locations to licensed healthcare professionals.
  • May undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of one year experience as an Anesthesia Technician in an operating room or in a related healthcare role.
  • High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required upon commencement.
