Clinical Nursing Team Supervisor

As a pivotal leader within our nursing team, you will act as a clinical expert, mentor, and facilitator for departmental operations. You will hold the authority to guide your team, address routine challenges, and foster a positive and efficient work environment. Staying informed about organizational developments, you will implement relevant initiatives within your team. Complex issues will be escalated to management, including matters related to compensation, staffing, and performance management. You will promote effective communication and resolve operational challenges that align with service area objectives. In addition to leadership duties, you will provide professional nursing care to patients across various age groups within your designated area.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop care plans, implement interventions, and evaluate patient outcomes to ensure optimal care delivery.
- Utilize leadership strategies to mobilize the nursing team towards achieving favorable patient outcomes, ensuring follow-up on all matters for resolution.
- Support management in maintaining staff competence and contribute to performance development initiatives. Identify areas for improvement and participate in performance evaluations through regular coaching and feedback.
- Assist in creating and managing work schedules, ensuring adequate staffing and equitable treatment of team members while addressing clinical issues as they arise.
- Collaborate with management on fiscal responsibilities, ensuring resource allocation aligns with financial objectives and contributing to budgetary processes.
- Engage in departmental responsibilities such as implementing quality improvement initiatives and responding to patient satisfaction feedback.
- Facilitate team meetings to ensure open communication, address team concerns, and promote a positive work culture while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Experience: A minimum of one year in a clinical setting is required, with two years preferred, demonstrating clinical and leadership capabilities.
Licensure/Certification: Must possess a current Registered Nurse license in Virginia or be eligible for licensure. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred. CPR certification is required, along with ACLS, PALS, and NRP as necessary.
Other: Proficiency in electronic medical records (EPIC) is essential. Successful completion of de-escalation training within four months of hire is required, along with ongoing maintenance of competencies.
