Nursing Operations Team Leader

As a pivotal leader within our clinical team, you will serve as a mentor, resource, and facilitator for nursing staff and departmental functions. You will hold the authority to guide your team, address routine challenges, and foster a positive and efficient work environment. Staying informed about organizational developments, you will implement initiatives that benefit your team. Complex issues will be escalated to management, ensuring that significant matters regarding staffing, compensation, and operational conditions are handled appropriately. You will promote open communication and resolve operational challenges that align with our service area objectives.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care to achieve optimal outcomes tailored to the service area.
- Employ leadership strategies to mobilize the patient care team, ensuring positive results and effective follow-up on all matters.
- Support management in evaluating staff competencies and contribute to their professional development. Identify areas for improvement and assist in creating developmental plans for team members, ensuring progress is monitored. Participate in performance evaluations through consistent coaching and feedback, maintaining performance records throughout the year.
- Assist in preparing work schedules for the department, ensuring adequate staffing and equitable treatment of team members while managing clinical issues and communicating with management as necessary.
- Collaborate with management on fiscal responsibilities, ensuring resource allocation aligns with financial objectives, and contribute to the budgeting process and expense management.
- Engage in departmental responsibilities such as implementing activities from patient satisfaction surveys and quality improvement initiatives.
- Facilitate individual and team meetings to promote effective communication, address team needs, and foster a positive work environment. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and hold team members accountable for their professional conduct.
Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
Experience: A minimum of one year in a clinical setting is required, with two years preferred, demonstrating clinical and leadership capabilities.
Licensure/Certification: Must hold a current Registered Nurse license in Virginia or be eligible for licensure. A BSN is preferred. CPR certification is required, along with ACLS, PALS, and NRP as needed.
Other: Proficiency in electronic medical records (EPIC) is necessary. Completion of de-escalation training for Psychiatry and Behavioral Health within four months of hire is required. Successful completion of orientation and competency requirements is also mandatory.
