Role Summary

Reporting directly to the Director of Campground Operations, the Campground Operations Coach will oversee the management of campground operations and support the on-site General Managers at up to 10 RV resort locations. This role is pivotal in assisting General Managers by addressing challenges and obstacles, enabling them to concentrate on their teams and guests. As a hospitality training and development organization, we offer significant responsibilities and opportunities for advancement to the right candidate.

  • Collaborate with leadership to guide and support General Managers in maintaining a safe, enjoyable, clean, and family-friendly atmosphere at all locations.
  • Provide constructive feedback to the Home Office on process enhancements to improve team performance.
  • Leverage expertise in technology, systems, and administrative operations to boost the efficiency of on-site teams while alleviating General Managers' workloads.
  • Ensure all campgrounds and their amenities are fully operational.
  • Conduct training for General Managers, Leads, and their teams.
  • Optimize camper-nights, registration income, store sales, and additional revenue while managing costs.
  • Promote growth and awareness of each campground's service offerings.
  • Uphold company standards and expectations.
  • Manage campground performance metrics and quarterly goals.
  • Supervise capital improvements, maintenance, and infrastructure projects.
  • Ensure campground operations deliver the highest level of camper satisfaction.
  • Conduct call audits and provide feedback to maintain hospitality standards.
  • Develop marketing strategies aimed at increasing occupancy.
  • Proactively gather insights on campers and their travel plans to create memorable experiences.
  • Establish rules, guidelines, and best practices to enhance the experience for both teams and campers.
  • Recommend best practices in community management, sales, events, training, and camper experience on a company-wide basis.
  • Review daily reports and collaborate with the team to finalize weekly and monthly summaries.
  • Manage campground expenses, including accurate weekly expense reporting.
  • Temporarily oversee campground management as required.
  • Assist in the annual and quarterly budgeting process.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% to company-managed campgrounds.

Personnel Management

  • Guide on-site teams to achieve specific objectives.
  • Evaluate General Manager performance, provide regular feedback, conduct performance reviews, and implement disciplinary measures when necessary.
  • Foster professional development among team members and recommend promotions for qualified individuals.
  • Hold regular meetings with General Managers to provide coaching, drive progress, and ensure business results are met.
  • Ensure optimal team structure to maximize productivity.
  • Keep the team informed of process changes.

Physical Campground Oversight

  • Discuss General Manager recommendations with the Director of Operations regarding necessary repairs, maintenance, or updates at properties.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Setting to oversee and implement capital improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze property reviews to identify and address issues such as uneven sites or inadequate cleaning staff.
  • Prioritize actions based on camper feedback and communicate necessary adjustments to the team.
  • Implement camper safety plans, including fire and emergency protocols.

Business Development

  • Oversee the successful onboarding of newly acquired campgrounds and newly appointed General Managers.
  • Assist with regional marketing efforts, including participation in relevant trade shows or exhibitions.
  • Stay informed about and recommend involvement in recruiting events, college fairs, and community activities.

Qualifications & Skills

  • A strong passion for and understanding of Team Outsider's mission and values.
  • 5+ years of experience in hospitality, project management, or business operations.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities.
  • Technical troubleshooting skills related to systems and processes.
  • Highly organized with strong note-taking and process implementation skills.
  • Ability to foster a positive culture in a remote work environment.
  • Willingness to travel 30% of the time.
  • Experience in campground management is advantageous.
  • A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
  • Familiarity with CampSpot and/or K2 is a plus.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Ability to drive results, maintain accountability, and push actions forward in a remote setting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience managing teams of five or more individuals.
  • Exceptional prioritization skills with a focus on single-tasking.
