Role Summary

Under the guidance of the Director of Campground Operations, the Campground Operations Coach will oversee the management of campground activities and support the General Managers at up to 10 RV resort locations. This role is pivotal in assisting General Managers by addressing challenges and obstacles, enabling them to concentrate on their teams and guests. As a hospitality training and development organization, we offer significant responsibilities and opportunities for professional advancement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Embody the values of Team Outsider while executing your duties.
  • Collaborate with leadership to guide and assist General Managers in maintaining a safe, enjoyable, and family-friendly atmosphere at all locations.
  • Provide constructive feedback to the Home Office on process enhancements to improve team performance.
  • Utilize expertise in technology and operational processes to enhance the efficiency of on-site teams and alleviate General Managers' workloads.
  • Ensure all campgrounds and their amenities are fully functional.
  • Conduct training for General Managers and their teams.
  • Optimize camper-nights, revenue from registrations, store sales, and additional income while managing costs.
  • Promote and enhance the service offerings of each campground.
  • Uphold company standards and expectations.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and quarterly goals for each campground.
  • Supervise capital improvements and maintenance projects.
  • Ensure campground operations meet the highest standards of camper satisfaction.
  • Conduct call audits and provide feedback to maintain hospitality standards.
  • Develop marketing strategies to increase occupancy.
  • Gather insights on campers and their travel plans to create memorable experiences.
  • Establish rules and best practices to enhance community experiences for both teams and campers.
  • Recommend best practices in community management, sales, events, training, and camper experience on a company-wide basis.
  • Review daily reports and collaborate with the team to finalize weekly and monthly summaries.
  • Manage campground expenditures, including the timely submission of expense reports.
  • Temporarily oversee campground management as required.
  • Assist in the annual and quarterly budgeting processes.
  • Travel up to 30% to company-managed campgrounds as necessary.

Personnel Management

  • Guide on-site teams to achieve defined goals and objectives.
  • Evaluate General Manager performance, provide ongoing feedback, conduct performance reviews, and implement necessary disciplinary actions.
  • Facilitate the professional growth of team members and recommend promotions.
  • Hold regular meetings with General Managers to provide coaching and ensure business objectives are met.
  • Ensure optimal team productivity by placing the right individuals in appropriate roles.
  • Keep the team informed of process updates.

Physical Campground Oversight

  • Discuss recommendations from General Managers regarding repairs and maintenance with the Director of Operations.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Setting to implement capital improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze property reviews to identify and address issues such as uneven sites or inadequate cleaning staff.
  • Prioritize actions based on camper feedback and communicate necessary adjustments to the team.
  • Implement camper safety protocols, including emergency plans.

Business Development

  • Oversee the successful integration of newly acquired campgrounds and newly appointed General Managers.
  • Assist with regional marketing efforts, including participation in relevant trade shows.
  • Identify and recommend involvement in recruitment events, college fairs, and community activities.

Qualifications

  • A strong commitment to Team Outsider's mission and values.
  • Minimum of 5 years in hospitality, project management, or business operations.
  • Proficient problem-solving skills.
  • Technical troubleshooting abilities related to systems and processes.
  • Highly organized with strong note-taking and process implementation skills.
  • Ability to foster a positive culture in a remote work environment.
  • Willingness to travel 30% of the time.
  • Experience in campground management is advantageous.
  • A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
  • Familiarity with CampSpot and/or K2 is a plus.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Ability to drive results and maintain accountability in a remote setting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience managing teams of five or more.
  • Exceptional prioritization skills.
