Nocturnal Veterinary Care Specialist

As a Nocturnal Veterinary Care Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of our animal patients during overnight hours. Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of tasks aimed at delivering high-quality veterinary care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implementing treatment protocols as directed by veterinarians
- Conducting diagnostic assessments as per the attending doctor's instructions
- Administering medications and treatments
- Managing the intake and discharge processes for hospitalized animals
- Communicating financial information to pet owners
- Recording daily hospital charges
- Maintaining accurate patient records using our digital systems
- Providing medication to boarding animals as required
- Keeping pet owners informed about their hospitalized pets' conditions
- Ensuring a sanitized and organized treatment environment
- Monitoring anesthesia during surgical procedures
The ideal candidate will exhibit a positive demeanor, exceptional patient care, and outstanding customer service skills. A passion for delivering high-quality care is essential, along with being a licensed veterinary technician or possessing equivalent experience in emergency or critical care settings.

Qualifications:
- Licensed Veterinary Technician
or
- Equivalent experience in emergency or critical care
Essential Skills:
- Effective animal restraint techniques
- Placement of peripheral catheters
- Venipuncture proficiency
- Basic bandaging skills
- Administering oral and injectable medications
- Understanding various drug administration routes
- Monitoring anesthesia and preparing for surgeries
- Preparing an aseptic surgical environment
- Recording vital signs (Temperature, Pulse, Respiration, and Pain Assessment)
- Conducting basic laboratory tests (PCV, TP, UA, cytology staining, fecal analysis)
- Maintaining accurate medical records and computer literacy
- Performing surgical scrubbing and gowning
- Knowledge of in-house and reference laboratory testing
Work Schedule:
This overnight position requires availability from 8 PM to 8 AM. As a 24/7 facility, team members must be prepared to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays.
