Position Overview: The Spice House is seeking a friendly Spice Sales Specialist who possesses a passion for food and cooking, and is eager to engage with customers, guiding them through our extensive range of spices and their applications. The ideal candidate will have prior retail experience, exceptional customer service abilities, and a proactive approach to learning about our products. The role involves working approximately 2-4 shifts per week (8-16 hours), within the hours of 10am-6pm, including weekends. Additional hours may be available based on business needs, but are not guaranteed. This is a permanent, long-term position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver outstanding customer service in a specialty food retail setting.
  • Greet customers warmly and assist them throughout their shopping experience.
  • Establish rapport through engaging conversations and genuine recommendations tailored to customers' preferences and needs.
  • Process customer transactions using our POS and Web pickup systems.
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked sales floor as directed by management.
  • Support the upkeep of the back stock area and assist in setting up product displays on the sales floor.
Qualifications:
  • At least 1 year of retail experience or related experience preferred.
  • Friendly and outgoing personality with a strong dedication to customer service - a genuine interest in connecting with people is essential.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively when engaging with customers and facilitating sales.
  • Composed, professional demeanor with effective problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds and stand or walk for extended periods.
  • Availability to work weekends is required.
  • Willingness to work between 8-20 hours per week, within the hours of 10am-6pm, including weekends.
