The Spice House is in search of a friendly Spice Sales Consultant who has a passion for food and cooking, and possesses the confidence to engage with and guide customers through our extensive range of spices and their applications. The ideal candidate will have prior retail experience, excellent customer service abilities, and a proactive approach to learning about our products. Employees will typically work 2-4 shifts per week (8-16 hours), during the hours of 10am-6pm, including weekends. Additional hours may be available based on business needs, but are not guaranteed. This is a regular, long-term position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional customer service in a specialty food retail setting.
- Greet customers warmly and assist them throughout their shopping experience.
- Establish rapport through engaging conversations and genuine recommendations tailored to customers' preferences and needs.
- Process customer orders using our POS and Web pickup systems.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked sales floor as directed by management.
- Support the upkeep of the back stock area and assist in setting up merchandise displays on the sales floor.
- At least 1 year of retail experience or related experience preferred.
- Friendly and outgoing personality with a strong dedication to customer service.
- Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively when interacting with customers and making sales.
- Composed, professional demeanor with strong problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds and stand or walk for extended periods.
- Availability to work weekends is required.
- Willingness to work between 8-20 hours per week, during the hours of 10am-6pm, including weekends.
- This is a regular, long-term position.
- A genuine passion for food and flavor is essential.
- We provide flexible scheduling options between the hours of 10am and 6pm, seven days a week.
