About the Role

Nemours Children's Health is seeking a highly skilled Patient Services Specialist II to join our Primary Care team in St. Cloud, Florida. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to internal and external customers, ensuring accurate registration and scheduling processes, and maintaining patient confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide customer service to internal and external customers, answering phone lines in a prompt and courteous manner, and triaging calls to handle appropriately.
  • Collect, maintain, and ensure accuracy of patient information through standard business practices, including registration, scheduling, and appointment coordination.
  • Collect and verify patient insurance information, including authorizations and referrals, and collect co-pays, deductibles, co-insurance, and balances on accounts.
  • Manage no-show and cancellation processes, confirm appointments with patients/guardians, and prepare charts with necessary paperwork for physician visits.
  • Triaging and managing electronic communication daily, scanning new paperwork into the EMR or placing it in patient charts, and checking in and checking out patients in the office.
  • Coordinate the release of information and medical record process, processing all incoming and outgoing medical record requests, and ensuring coding information is complete on billing documents.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma required, with specialized training beyond high school preferred.
  • Minimum of one to three years' experience in customer service and healthcare, with medical office or call center experience preferred.
  • Ability to travel to other primary care locations as needed for coverage.
