Overview

In this role, you will enhance patient understanding and skills in daily living and recreational pursuits by delivering educational sessions and information tailored to individuals or groups. As part of a collaborative interdisciplinary team, you will design and execute a diverse range of therapeutic programs (educational and/or activity-based) for patients aged 5 years to adult facing mental health challenges and/or substance use disorders.

Work Schedule

  • Part-time position | Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit
  • 16 hours biweekly | 7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
  • Every other weekend required

Compensation and Benefits

  • Starting at $18.90 per hour, based on experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant human services discipline or
  • A minimum of five years of pertinent experience in group facilitation, program development, and material design or
  • An Associate of Arts degree from an accredited occupational therapy assistant program, including successful completion of clinical fieldwork. If graduated from an accredited occupational therapy assistant program, National Certification through NBCOT as a COTA and state licensure as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) in Minnesota is mandatory.
  • Initial and ongoing training in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI) is required and provided.
  • Basic skills and knowledge in delivering therapeutic education and activities.
  • Understanding of medical and psychiatric diagnoses and their related symptoms.
  • Capability to instruct a variety of educational and creative activities.
