About the Role

Nemours Children's Health is seeking a highly skilled Patient Services Specialist II to join our Primary Care team in St. Cloud, Florida. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and administrative support to our patients and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Respond to phone calls and inquiries in a prompt and courteous manner, triage calls, and handle them accordingly.
  • Registration: Collect, maintain, and ensure the accuracy of patient information using standard business practices.
  • Scheduling: Coordinate all necessary paperwork for registration, scheduling, and appointments, including understanding visit types, templates, and scheduling fundamentals.
  • Financial: Collect, verify, and maintain patient insurance information, including authorizations and referrals, and collect co-pays, deductibles, co-insurance, and balances on accounts.
  • Communication: Triage and manage electronic communication daily, scan new paperwork into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), and task the physician responsible for reviewing or place information with the patient chart.
  • Release of Information: Coordinate the release of information and medical record process, process all incoming and outgoing medical record requests, and ensure coding information is complete on billing documents.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma required, specialized training beyond high school preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of one to three years' experience in customer service and healthcare, medical office or call center experience preferred.
  • Travel: Travel to other primary care locations as needed for coverage is required.
