Position Overview

The Foster Care Coalition of Greater St is seeking a Community Engagement and Events Coordinator to design and implement engaging and impactful events that reflect the organization's mission. This role is essential in cultivating relationships with donors and enhancing community involvement. The successful candidate will oversee the planning and execution of various fundraising and appreciation events, working closely with key stakeholders including the Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the organization of all fundraising and appreciation events.
  • Create and maintain a comprehensive events calendar, including galas, outreach initiatives, volunteer opportunities, and awareness campaigns.
  • Manage logistical elements of event planning, including venue selection, catering, entertainment, and necessary permits.
  • Develop and oversee timelines and budgets for events, ensuring financial efficiency and compliance with guidelines.
  • Facilitate meetings for special event committees, preparing agendas and documenting minutes.
  • Execute smaller events throughout the year focused on awareness and gratitude.
  • Coordinate stewardship efforts to engage event attendees and convert them into ongoing supporters.
  • Collaborate with leadership to forecast financial goals for events based on previous data and donor trends.
  • Enhance donor engagement through regular communication and relationship-building strategies.
  • Identify and pursue new sponsorship opportunities to increase the organization's visibility within the community.
  • Work with marketing teams to develop promotional strategies for events through various channels.
  • Utilize CRM software to track and analyze fundraising data, assessing effectiveness and identifying improvement areas.
  • Act as a liaison for the Jr. Board, organizing meetings and events.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and organizational policies for all events and community programs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in development or event management.
  • Experience in the nonprofit sector and working with volunteers.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances while maintaining a positive outlook.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM software, with Salesforce experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
