Job Overview

The Foster Care Coalition of Greater St is seeking a dedicated Community Engagement and Events Coordinator to orchestrate and implement engaging and memorable events that reflect the organization's values. This role is pivotal in advancing the Coalition's mission by motivating, managing, and expanding donor support. The ideal candidate will oversee the planning and execution of all fundraising events, nurturing relationships with sponsors and donors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary contact for all fundraising and appreciation events.
  • Design and oversee a comprehensive events calendar, including fundraising galas, community outreach initiatives, volunteer opportunities, and awareness campaigns.
  • Manage all logistical elements of event planning, including venue selection, catering, entertainment, transportation, and necessary permits.
  • Establish and oversee timelines and budgets for events, ensuring financial efficiency and compliance with budgetary guidelines.
  • Facilitate special event committee meetings, preparing agendas and minutes, and providing regular updates on event progress.
  • Organize smaller awareness and appreciation events throughout the year.
  • Lead the Development Team in fostering relationships with event attendees, converting guests into committed supporters of the Coalition.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to accurately project event financial objectives based on historical data and donor behavior.
  • Enhance donor engagement through regular communication, increasing levels of involvement and support.
  • Develop and implement strategies for donor retention and engagement across various affinity groups.
  • Boost the organization's visibility and reputation by identifying and cultivating new sponsorship opportunities.
  • Research and prepare sponsorship proposals for targeted foundations and corporations.
  • Work with the Marketing team to create and execute promotional strategies for events and community programs across multiple channels.
  • Utilize Salesforce or similar CRM systems to track and analyze fundraising data, assessing the effectiveness of initiatives and identifying areas for enhancement.
  • Serve as the liaison for the Junior Board, organizing meetings and events.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies for events and community programs.
Accountability and Compliance
  • Maintain a daily activity log and an updated calendar.
  • Adhere to the Coalition's Shared Values and Code of Conduct.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in development, event management, or hospitality.
Skills and Experience
  • Experience in the nonprofit sector and working with volunteers.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances while maintaining a positive demeanor.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software, with Salesforce experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Organizational Relationships

This position is part of the Development Team and reports directly to the Chief Impact Officer.

Working Conditions

This role requires both office and community engagement, with a need for flexibility in hours, including evenings and weekends as necessary.
