Patient Billing Coordinator

Job Summary
">We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Billing Coordinator to join our dynamic team at Aspire Allergy & Sinus. This role will be responsible for handling inbound phone calls, ensuring all patient inquiries are addressed in a timely and professional manner. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
About the Role
- Answer multi-line phones for the billing department, ensuring all incoming lines are always covered
- Cross-train in authorizations, insurance verification, and payment posting to assist with coverage as needed
- Demonstrate the ability to deal with patients regarding sensitive financial matters and capture unpaid balances, including patient itemized receipt requests
- Receive and resolve patient billing complaints and questions, initiate adjustments as necessary
- Make appropriate financial arrangements for payment of patient accounts; respond to correspondence or telephone calls from patients about accounts
- Document calls with patients in practice management system
- Utilize merchant processing vendor to process credit cards or check payments and manage payment plans
- Send receipts when requested by patient
- Prepare write-off and refund requests with appropriate documentation and submit to Manager
- Process collection agency accounts
- Assist AR Specialist with insurance records requests
- Sort daily mail, interoffice correspondence, and faxes
Requirements
- Knowledge of Commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid Insurance guidelines
- Must be customer-oriented and have the ability to adapt/respond to patient escalation issues
- Excellent mathematical skills, computer skills, G Suite application skills
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and goal-oriented
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple workflows and responsibilities
- Ability to work in a results-oriented and fast-paced environment, both individually and as part of a team
