Overview:


The Quality Assurance Engineer is accountable for the engineering initiatives necessary to effectively manage product processing through the Testing and Burn-In sectors. This includes the design and development of essential testing hardware and software.

Assist in the maintenance and oversight of the Automated Testing Equipment (ATE), standard laboratory testing apparatus, thermal ovens, and other tools utilized within the Testing and Burn-In sectors.


Key Responsibilities:
1. Evaluate device specifications, customer Source Control Drawings (SCD's), Standard Military Drawings (SMD's), and other relevant documentation to ascertain the most suitable testing platforms and/or equipment for processing specific products through the Testing and Burn-In sectors, while devising practical and cost-effective solutions to meet all electrical testing requirements;

2. Review all pertinent documentation to provide comprehensive quote information to the Sales team regarding the engineering efforts required, including any necessary Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE) costs, to facilitate potential business opportunities;

3. Define, develop, troubleshoot, and implement all major components of electrical testing programs for specific device categories using high-speed ATE and compliant testing methodologies;

4. Identify and cultivate alternative sources for testing services and software, including the specification of requirements, vendor qualification, Request for Quotation (RFQ) review, and software certification;

5. Generate comprehensive documentation, including test hardware schematics, engineering drawings, standards, specifications, data analysis, and technical reports. Produce all relevant test kit documentation and conduct peer reviews of documentation created by other engineers;

6. Work independently on small to moderately complex test engineering projects or provide assistance on larger, more complex test engineering projects;

7. Design and develop moderately to highly complex factory testing equipment, fixtures, and hardware interfaces. Oversee the programming of automated factory testing equipment and the verification of test programs for completeness and accuracy;

8. Conduct experimental investigations into testing methodologies, fixture design and development, product yield enhancement, and process quality controls. Analyze experimental results and initiate/implement solutions;

9. Provide technical analysis of internal, vendor, or customer-related product issues. Engage in the resolution of any identified issues;

10. Communicate with customers regarding the completeness, repeatability, and accuracy of testing programs. Review apparent issues and propose solutions as necessary;

11. Assist with routine calibration, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs of ATE systems;

12. The incumbent is expected to maintain a constant awareness of business economics and competitive landscape, focusing efforts on cost control within allocated budgets and reducing expenses wherever feasible;

Qualifications:
1. B.S. Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Physical Science from an accredited institution, or Professional Engineering registration, or an equivalent combination of practical education and experience;

2. A minimum of two years of experience in the electrical testing of integrated circuits in a Product Engineering or Test Engineering capacity;

3. At least one year of experience programming applicable ATE or equivalent testing experience;

4. Demonstrated understanding of device parameters, testing philosophy, and methodologies;

5. Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt positively to priority changes in a dynamic work environment;

6. Capability to provide technical guidance to less experienced personnel, including test operators, technicians, and junior engineers;


7. Possess a strong programming aptitude, with a solid understanding of various digital, linear, mixed-signal, memory, and discrete device parameters, as well as the testing methodologies employed in their measurement.

Equipment Used:
Standard electronic laboratory equipment, including Oscilloscopes, Pulse/Signal Generators, Parametric Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, etc.

Automated Test Equipment (ATE) such as Teradyne J937, LTX-Credence D10, HP83K, SemiTek 201, Credence STS, etc.

Safety glasses and ear protection, if necessary.
