We are seeking a highly skilled Loan Services Officer to join our team at HIAS Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for the collection of loans, working closely with the Loan Services Department to increase revenue and ensure a complete database for recording, reporting, and analyzing client repayments.
Key Responsibilities- Review and analyze delinquent or canceled accounts to determine if an extension of the grace period is needed and request approval from supervisor.
- Review undelivered mail and update addresses on the loan software.
- Research and analyze customer accounts to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Follow up with phone calls/second mailing if necessary and refer uncollectible accounts to management.
- Contacts clients via phone and email to obtain payments on past due balances.
- Assist in completing special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
- Possess an exceptional professional, courteous demeanor in a sometimes fast-paced environment.
- Perform other clerical duties as required including filing, data entry, typing etc.
- Assist in preparing end of month reports.
- Assist in preparing for annual audits.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Undergraduate degree preferred.
- 2-3 years of relevant experience.
- Computer-literate, experience in network environment, internet, and e-mail transfer of data, proficient in office applications (Excel and Word).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent time management/organizational skills.
- Spanish fluency preferred but not required.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to problem solve.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to effectively prioritize multiple responsibilities.
- Ability to deliver high-quality results in a timely manner.
- Ability to prepare financial reports/budgets.
- Ability to assist the manager with vendor management.
- Ability to effectively prioritize problems and manage multiple requests/expectations; the job requires self-motivation to function at full productivity.
- Ability to interact with external clients by providing support via phone, web, and email; as well as team-oriented interaction with all.
- Travel, to include travel to insecure operating environments, may be required.
