Job Overview - Lead Financial Analyst

The Lead Financial Analyst will play a pivotal role within the B&W MEGTEC Corporate Accounting team, taking charge of critical components of the balance sheet during the monthly and quarterly closing processes.

This position will also be instrumental in contributing to quarterly and annual SEC filings, managing the annual statutory reporting for specific standalone entities, conducting technical accounting research, and addressing various ad hoc requests and analyses as required.

The role entails substantial collaboration with Corporate Accounting & Consolidation, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and Legal departments. This position is highly visible to senior management, including the Corporate Controller and Treasurer.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage in all monthly and quarterly closing activities, which include journal entries, account reconciliations, and the preparation of supporting schedules related to debt, equity, intangible assets, and other miscellaneous areas. This encompasses the creation of all relevant footnotes and cash flow support.
  • Compile annual reports for two standalone entities and act as the primary liaison for the external audit of these entities.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and internal stakeholders to ensure the accuracy and timely completion of SOX documentation, risk matrices, and test plans for related cycles.
  • Complete, document, and communicate various ad hoc projects and analyses requested by internal clients, including Senior and Executive Management.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in a large publicly traded corporation or a significant public accounting firm.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent experience and education.
  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting standards.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and data accuracy, while maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the overall business context.
  • Excellent organizational, process, and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to interpret and apply technical accounting literature.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to partner and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Prior experience with Workiva Wdesk is preferred.

Experience with Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and Oracle is advantageous.
