Role Overview:

This newly established position within our expanding North America team presents an exciting opportunity to influence project outcomes and contribute to staff development.

You will provide expert guidance and leadership primarily in the circular economy sector, while also addressing decarbonization and natural economy initiatives. Managing a small team of analysts and modelers, you will foster their professional growth, offer technical support, and implement processes to ensure the integrity of our analyses. Collaboration with our UK team and technical council will be essential.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Engaging with clients to ascertain their needs and translating these into actionable project methodologies and objectives.
  • Formulating strategies to tackle complex inquiries related to the circular economy and sustainability.
  • Overseeing technical teams, including developing project work streams, reviewing model designs, and approving technical outputs.
  • Crafting and presenting deliverables that emphasize key insights while clarifying assumptions and methodologies.
  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously, applying your expertise across various fields and demonstrating a willingness to learn rapidly.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

The successful candidate will possess extensive experience in the following areas:

  • A minimum of 10 years of post-graduate experience in environmental assessments, policy evaluations, and systems mapping.
  • Expertise in managing quantitative analyses and familiarity with diverse data sources, including the ability to interpret and synthesize data.
  • Proficiency in developing complex systems-based models.
  • A comprehensive understanding of waste and resource management systems in North America.
  • Experience in critically evaluating methodologies and conducting advanced analyses in under-researched areas.
  • Ability to apply systems thinking to problem-solving and solution modeling.
  • Senior-level experience in a consultancy environment, with a preference for candidates with a background in government or academia.
  • A proven track record in mentoring technical teams and fostering the development of emerging professionals.
  • Commercial acumen, including business development and client management experience.
  • Knowledge of the environmental impacts of plastics.
  • Experience in managing junior and mid-level professionals.
  • Relevant experience in carbon accounting across core markets, particularly in circular economy and waste management.
  • Understanding of waste and resource management systems in developing regions.
  • Familiarity with GIS, Python, R, and data visualization tools.
  • Experience within a consultancy business model.
  • Strong public speaking skills, capable of delivering technical content to varied audiences.
  • A robust network within the circular economy sector.
