Key Responsibilities
  • Provide academic leadership and administrative oversight to the department, including faculty development, research initiatives, and extension programs.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to advance the department's research, education, and extension missions.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and stakeholders to foster a culture of inclusivity, diversity, and excellence.
  • Manage departmental resources, including budget, personnel, and facilities.
  • Represent the department and university in various forums, including national and international conferences, and engage with external stakeholders to promote the department's research and extension activities.
Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Plant Pathology, Environmental Microbiology, or a closely related field.
  • Internationally recognized excellence in research, education, and/or extension as a faculty member in academia.
  • Effectiveness in advocating research, education, and extension missions.
  • Program and administrative leadership experience or strong evidence of the potential for program and administrative leadership.
  • Excellence in written and oral communication.
  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide an inclusive environment for all faculty, staff, students, and stakeholders.
