We are seeking a Kitchen Fire Suppression Operations Manager to oversee all operational aspects of this critical function. Reporting directly to the Director of Fire and Life Safety, you will manage scheduling, training, and field operations related to wet/dry chemical kitchen fire suppression systems. Your role will involve supervising Field Service Technicians in the inspection, testing, and maintenance of these systems, ensuring compliance with NFPA 17A standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead, train, and mentor all division personnel, including field technicians, coordinators, supervisors, dispatchers, and administrative staff.
  • Coordinate the efforts of subcontractors and team members to achieve project objectives.
  • Ensure timely completion of planning, scheduling, installation, billing, warranty management, and emergency service tasks.
  • Maintain proactive communication with clients, vendors, and subcontractors to implement strategies that meet or exceed business goals.
  • Collaborate effectively with other departments, including service technicians, accounting, sales, project management, and construction teams.
  • Oversee daily operations to ensure seamless business functionality.
  • Manage financial performance against P&L goals, tracking costs related to specific projects or services to support company profitability objectives.
  • Oversee all installation and service requirements, including material procurement and project timelines, while managing subcontractor relationships.
  • Work alongside the sales team to enhance branch growth and profitability.
  • Ensure proper calibration and control of inspection tools and testing equipment.
  • Guarantee the accurate processing of work orders, including management of open and unscheduled tasks.
  • Develop and analyze departmental metrics to coach supervisors on enhancing team performance.
  • Report essential information to ensure Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met.
  • Review financial data and adjust operational budgets to foster profitability.
  • Partner with human resources for recruitment, selection, and evaluation of team members.
  • Ensure timely administration of employee evaluations in compliance with Equal Employment Opportunity regulations.
  • Manage on-call processes and calendar synchronization for emergency service technicians.
  • Continuously assess and improve business procedures to align with organizational objectives.
Qualifications:
  • 7 to 10 years of experience in an operations supervisory or management role within the industry, including planning, estimating, contracting, project management, and system servicing.
  • Experience with wet/dry chemical kitchen fire suppression systems.
  • Proven leadership skills, including training, team building, and effective communication with management and clients.
  • Ability to implement organizational changes in response to business needs.
  • Strong negotiation, organizational, and communication skills for effective multitasking.
  • Ability to interpret financial statements, blueprints, contracts, and submittals.
  • Experience with forecasting business results using financial tools.
  • Familiarity with service and construction contract negotiations.
  • Previous P&L management experience is advantageous.
  • Must obtain and maintain NICET Level II in Special Hazard Fire Suppression Systems within 24 months of employment.
  • Must obtain and maintain ICC Pre-Engineered Kitchen and Industrial Fire Extinguishing Systems certification within 6 months of employment.
  • Must obtain and maintain ICC Engineered Fire Suppression Systems certification within 12 months of employment.
  • General experience in designing and calculating wet/dry chemical fire suppression systems.
  • Experience working with major fire suppression system manufacturers.
  • Knowledge of relevant local, state, and federal codes is preferred but will be required to learn.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Excel, and other related software.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company standards.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time based on geographic assignments.
