We are currently seeking a Kitchen Fire Suppression Operations Manager to lead all activities within this specialized area. Reporting directly to the Director of Fire and Life Safety, you will manage the scheduling, training, and field operations related to wet/dry chemical kitchen fire suppression systems. Your leadership will extend to overseeing Field Service Technicians responsible for the inspection, testing, and maintenance of these systems, ensuring compliance with NFPA 17A standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Recruit, train, and manage all personnel within the division, including field technicians, coordinators, and administrative staff.
- Oversee the coordination of subcontractors and team members to ensure project completion.
- Accountable for planning, scheduling, and executing installation and service tasks, including billing and warranty management.
- Maintain proactive communication with clients, vendors, and subcontractors to achieve operational goals and enhance market presence.
- Collaborate effectively with various departments, including sales, accounting, and project management, to ensure seamless operations.
- Monitor daily business activities to ensure efficient operational flow.
- Manage financial performance by tracking project costs and reporting to senior management, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Oversee all installation and service logistics, including procurement and scheduling, while ensuring fiscal responsibility.
- Partner with the sales team to drive branch growth and profitability.
- Ensure the calibration and control of inspection tools and testing equipment.
- Guarantee timely processing of work orders, including management of open and unscheduled tasks.
- Develop and analyze departmental metrics to enhance team performance.
- Report critical information to ensure achievement of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Review financial data and adjust operational budgets to support profitability.
- Work with human resources on recruitment and performance evaluations of team members.
- Manage technician on-call processes and emergency service operations.
- Continuously assess and improve business procedures to align with organizational objectives.
- 7 to 10 years of experience in operations management within the fire protection industry, including project management and system servicing.
- Proven experience with wet/dry chemical kitchen fire suppression systems.
- Strong leadership and management skills, including training and team development.
- Ability to implement organizational changes effectively.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in financial analysis and forecasting.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal fire safety codes is preferred.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Willingness to travel as required.
