Ferruzzo & Ferruzzo is looking for a seasoned Labor & Employment Attorney with six (6) to twelve (12) years of extensive experience in managing the intricacies of the employer-employee dynamic. The ideal candidate will possess a strong command of various legal matters, including wage and hour regulations, the California Fair Employment & Housing Act (FEHA), Title VII, leave administration, and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This position requires active participation in administrative hearings and engagement with agencies such as the EEOC, CRD (DFEH), and/or the Labor Board.


Core Responsibilities

Legal Advisory and Representation:

  • Represent clients independently or in collaboration during meetings, negotiations, and legal proceedings.
  • Handle multiple legal cases simultaneously with independence and effectiveness.
  • Delegate tasks among associates and support personnel efficiently.
  • Formulate case strategies and draft detailed memorandums.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence on legal matters concerning contracts and agreements.
  • Provide consistent updates to Senior Management regarding case progress.

Client Relations:

  • Engage with the Managing Partner and Practice Group Leaders to effectively manage client relationships.
  • Build strong connections with clients through regular communication and clear explanations of legal processes.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of client operations, economic factors, and industry requirements to provide pertinent advice.

Business Growth:

  • Actively engage in business development and marketing strategies to enhance the practice.
  • Identify potential clients through networking, marketing activities, and participation in industry events.
  • Contribute to the Firm's mission through involvement in Corporate Social Responsibility and pro-bono initiatives.
  • Guide associate attorneys and legal assistants to improve their skills and competencies.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law institution.
  • Active member in good standing of the California State Bar.
  • Six (6) to twelve (12) years of relevant experience, particularly in advising clients on employment-related matters.
  • In-depth knowledge of wage and hour laws, FEHA, Title VII, ADA, and other pertinent employment regulations.
  • Experience with administrative hearings, EEOC processes, CRD (DFEH), and/or Labor Board issues is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating complex legal concepts clearly.
  • Strong research and analytical abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Adobe Acrobat, and Lexis/Nexis.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work autonomously, prioritize tasks, and manage workload effectively.
  • Proven success in building and sustaining client relationships.
  • Commitment to excellence, professionalism, and integrity.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive base salary ranging from $150,000 to $225,000, based on experience and client portfolio.
