We are looking for a seasoned Labor & Employment Attorney with a wealth of experience, specifically between six (6) to twelve (12) years, in managing the intricate dynamics of employer-employee relations. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of various legal frameworks, including wage and hour regulations, the California Fair Employment & Housing Act (FEHA), Title VII, and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This position requires active participation in administrative hearings and collaboration with agencies such as the EEOC and Labor Board.


Key Responsibilities

Legal Representation:

  • Represent clients independently or in collaboration during meetings, negotiations, and legal proceedings.
  • Handle multiple legal cases simultaneously with efficiency and independence.
  • Delegate tasks among associates and support staff effectively.
  • Formulate case strategies and draft detailed memorandums.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence on legal matters related to contracts and agreements.
  • Provide regular updates to Senior Management regarding case progress.

Client Relations:

  • Work closely with the Managing Partner and Practice Group Leaders to enhance client relationships.
  • Establish strong connections with clients through ongoing communication and clear explanations of legal processes.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of client businesses and industry requirements to offer tailored legal advice.

Business Development:

  • Engage in business development and marketing strategies to grow the practice.
  • Identify new client opportunities through networking and participation in industry events.
  • Contribute to the firm's mission through involvement in community service and pro-bono initiatives.
  • Guide and mentor junior attorneys and legal staff to enhance their skills and professional growth.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Active member in good standing of the California State Bar.
  • Six (6) to twelve (12) years of relevant experience, particularly in advising on employment-related matters.
  • In-depth knowledge of wage and hour laws, FEHA, Title VII, ADA, and other pertinent employment regulations.
  • Experience with administrative hearings and proceedings before the EEOC and Labor Board is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex legal concepts.
  • Strong analytical and research capabilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and legal research tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, prioritize tasks, and manage workload effectively.
  • Proven success in building and maintaining client relationships.
  • Commitment to professionalism, integrity, and excellence.
