Ferruzzo & Ferruzzo, LLP is in search of a seasoned Labor & Employment Attorney possessing six (6) to twelve (12) years of extensive experience in managing the intricacies of the employer-employee dynamic. The ideal candidate will have a solid grasp of various legal frameworks, including wage and hour regulations, the California Fair Employment & Housing Act (FEHA), Title VII, leave administration, and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This position requires active participation in administrative hearings and collaboration with agencies such as the EEOC, CRD (DFEH), and/or the Labor Board.


Core Responsibilities

Legal Representation and Advisory:

  • Independently or collaboratively represent clients in negotiations, meetings, and legal proceedings.
  • Handle multiple legal cases simultaneously with autonomy and efficiency.
  • Delegate tasks among associates and support staff effectively.
  • Formulate case strategies and draft detailed memorandums.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence on legal matters related to contracts and agreements.
  • Provide regular updates to Senior Management regarding case progress.

Client Relations:

  • Consult with the Managing Partner and Practice Group Leaders to effectively manage client relationships.
  • Establish strong connections with clients through consistent communication and clear explanations of legal processes.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of client operations, economic drivers, and industry requirements to provide pertinent advice.

Business Growth:

  • Engage actively in business development and marketing efforts to enhance the practice.
  • Identify new client opportunities through networking, marketing initiatives, and participation in industry events.
  • Contribute to the Firm's mission through involvement in Corporate Social Responsibility and pro-bono initiatives.
  • Guide associate attorneys and legal assistants to develop their skills and capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law institution.
  • Active member in good standing of the California State Bar.
  • Six (6) to twelve (12) years of relevant experience, focusing on advising clients on employment-related matters.
  • In-depth knowledge of wage and hour laws, FEHA, Title VII, ADA, and other pertinent employment regulations.
  • Experience with administrative hearings, EEOC proceedings, CRD (DFEH), and/or Labor Board matters is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex legal concepts clearly.
  • Strong research and analytical abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Adobe Acrobat, and Lexis/Nexis.
  • Demonstrated capability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage workload effectively.
  • Proven history of building and maintaining client relationships.
  • Commitment to excellence, professionalism, and integrity.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive base salary ranging from $150,000 to $225,000, based on experience and client portfolio.
