Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Grants Accountant to join our team at Ibero-American Action League, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing vouchers for federal, state, county, and other government grants, maintaining all related finance records, and ensuring documentation to support valid financial reports is adequate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare vouchers for federal, state, county, and other government grants.
  • Maintain all related finance records up to date.
  • Ensure documentation to support valid financial reports is adequate and makes any adjustments, as necessary.
  • Develop budgets and program financial reports in partnership with division directors and the executive leadership team.
  • Verify participant information is accurate and up to date with Ibero Program Directors.
  • Work outside of regularly scheduled working hours when necessary.
  • Assume some of the basic duties of the Accounts Payable Specialist in their absence.
  • Recurring month-end G/L transactions.
  • Complete audit and assessment of all government contracts annually and create annual vouchering schedule.
  • Ensure grant accounting process is in compliance based on audit requirements and best practices.
  • Support the development of the balance sheet supporting schedules to be used for tracking and reconciliation (grant advances and deferred revenue).
  • Ensure Grants Gateway, SFS and all government grant management systems are up to date, prequalified and accessible.
  • Safeguard confidential information.
  • Attend staff meetings and staff functions as needed.

  • AAS-Accounting, Bachelors preferred.
  • 3-5 years' experience in similar capacity
  • Computer-MS Office, MIP Accounting Software or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and written skills
  • A combination of training and experience other than the specified, if judged to be adequate for the job, may be accepted by the President and CEO.
