Position Title:
Head of IT Asset Management
  • Location: Ohio
  • What you'll be responsible for: The Head of IT Asset Management is tasked with supervising the comprehensive lifecycle management of IT resources throughout the organization, including those managed by external cloud service providers.
The role encompasses the establishment, execution, and oversight of controls, protocols, and processes related to the acquisition, deployment, maintenance, and disposal of technology hardware and software resources.

This position demands a strategic visionary with exceptional leadership, analytical, and communication capabilities to guarantee that all departments accountable for asset stewardship are managing them efficiently and in accordance with established guidelines.

The Head of IT Asset Management will collaborate with other executives to devise solutions and implement tools that facilitate a robust asset management program.


Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Development:
Formulate and execute a comprehensive strategy for IT asset management. Align asset management practices with the organization's strategic goals and risk tolerance.

Lifecycle Oversight:
Manage the complete lifecycle of IT assets from acquisition through to disposal.

Ensure precise tracking and reporting of IT asset inventory, including licenses, warranties, service agreements, and versions to maintain compliance with contracts and internal standards.

Collaborate with Vendor Management and Financial Planning & Analysis to ensure effective oversight of vendors and suppliers responsible for IT assets.

Ensure that agreements clearly delineate the asset management responsibilities of vendors and suppliers.

Compliance and Governance:
Establish standards for Asset Management and ensure adherence by internal teams and relevant third parties. Implement, sustain, and enforce IT asset management policies, procedures, and best practices.

Financial Oversight:
Develop and manage the budget for IT asset management, identifying opportunities for efficiency and optimization. Contribute to cost savings through reporting on product and version compliance.

Leadership and Team Development:
Guide and mentor a team of asset management professionals. Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and collaboration. Utilize data to inform strategic planning, decision-making, and highlight areas of risk that need to be addressed promptly.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, CSAM) is preferred.
Experience:
A minimum of 5-10 years in IT Asset Management or a related field with proven leadership experience in IT.
Asset Management Expertise:

In-depth knowledge of IT Asset Management principles, best practices, and risk management strategies, with direct experience in ServiceNow being highly preferred.

Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to effectively manage and escalate challenging messages to key stakeholders. A strategic thinker capable of understanding the broader context and managing risk at an enterprise level.

Detail-oriented with robust organizational skills. Proactive and self-driven with a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and urgency.
