About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Solar Electrical Technician to join our team at Strata Clean Energy. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our utility-scale solar and storage systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Electrical Safety: Uphold a culture of safety by ensuring strict adherence to OSHA, NFPA, state and local codes, and Strata Clean Energy safety protocols.
  • Electrical Theory: Develop a profound understanding of electrical theory to interpret design drawings and promptly identify and escalate any electrical safety hazards.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Execute both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks, focusing on enhancing plant performance and operational efficiency.
  • Electrical Isolation: Implement Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures to maintain compliance with electrical isolation protocols.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and diagnose common Direct Current (DC) faults within the PV plant.
  • Documentation: Complete and submit all assigned inspection and testing data promptly and accurately, and document all completed work using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and other organizational platforms.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum three (3) years of experience working with energized AC or DC systems, or other relevant experience preferred.
  • Skills: Ability to demonstrate basic working knowledge of electrical theory & PV power generating system fundamentals, ability to read and understand electrical drawings and schematics, aptitude for learning and understanding operation of various testing equipment, tools and procedures utilized in the maintenance of PV power generation systems, ability to collaborate and coordinate well with peer Technicians and other personnel, vendors, and subcontractors, proficiency with MS Office applications, and ability to operate in a professional workmanlike manner consistent with the organization's policies, procedures, and vision.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to work in an outdoor environment and be able to travel occasionally to remote project sites, must be able to sit, stand or walk for the entire duration of a shift, must be able to stoop, kneel or bend, must be able to lift, push or pull 50 lbs overhead repeatedly, 20/40 vision in each eye, with or without correction and ability to distinguish colors, and ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
