Under the guidance of the Senior Library Engagement Coordinator and in collaboration with the Library Engagement Coordinator 3, the Library Engagement Coordinator 2 is essential in facilitating the daily functions of the Library Connect services.

This role primarily involves delivering library services, managing collection upkeep, and contributing to various library programs along specified Library Connect routes and community outreach initiatives.


QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalent.

A valid California Driver's License and a clean driving record.

Must remain insurable with no major California traffic violations.

Strong communication and organizational skills.

Experience in customer service or library services preferred.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Successful completion of a background check.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES


Safely operate the Library Connect vehicle to transport it to designated locations, ensuring compliance with traffic laws and regulations.

Assist patrons with book checkouts, inquiries, and other library services on the Library Connect vehicle.

Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the Library Connect vehicle, including shelving books and materials.

Assist in managing the inventory and condition of Library Connect materials and resources.

Ensure that library materials are properly organized and accessible to patrons.

Support general library programming efforts, including setting up displays and assisting with program logistics.

Engage with patrons of all ages, providing assistance, information, and a welcoming environment.

Address patron inquiries and concerns with professionalism and sensitivity.

Assist with the logistics of Library Connect routes and stops, including setup and breakdown procedures.


Communicate any immediate needs or issues related to the Library Connect vehicle or its services to the Library Engagement Coordinator 3 or Senior Library Engagement Coordinator.

Collaborate with the Library Engagement Coordinator 3 to ensure the smooth operation of the Library Connect programs and services.

Work cooperatively with other team members to achieve program goals and objectives.

Perform other duties as assigned to support the goals and mission of the Riverside County Library and Literacy Services.

Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Ability to work effectively with a diverse range of staff, patrons, supervisors, and others.

Ability to work weekends and some evenings.

Proficiency in using various technologies to complete work.

Ability to follow library policies and procedures.

Adaptability to work accurately in a changing and varied environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to frequently remain in a stationary position for multiple hours at a time.

This position requires movement to collect materials, access files/supplies, etc.

Constantly operates a computer and other equipment such as printers and copiers.

Occasionally ascend/descend a step stool or stairs to put away or reach supplies.

This position frequently communicates with patrons and other staff to answer questions. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

Frequently pushes and pulls book carts weighing up to 75 lbs. and transports materials.
