Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Executive Sous Chef to join our team at Clark's Oyster Bar in Menlo Park, California. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow, and leading a team of culinary professionals to deliver exceptional dining experiences to our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage the kitchen's day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Lead a team of culinary professionals to deliver exceptional dining experiences to our guests.
  • Develop and implement menus, recipes, and cooking techniques to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and storage of food and supplies.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as front-of-house and management, to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Monitor and control food costs, labor costs, and other expenses to ensure profitability.
Requirements
  • At least two years of progressive management experience in the California restaurant industry, with a preference for boutique or upscale dining establishments.
  • Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English is required; fluency in Spanish is preferred.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on attention to detail and quality.
  • Flexibility to work all shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
