Classification Summary: Acts as a representative of the University or Community College to various audiences, including prospective students and their families, applicants, newly admitted students, P-12 school district students and staff, community college students and staff, business and community members, University faculty and staff, and alumni. Responsible for overseeing a designated recruitment area, which entails significant travel during the recruitment season. Assists prospective students and their families throughout the application process. Cultivates and maintains strong relationships with key stakeholders in the recruitment area. Involved in all facets of admissions including undergraduate, transfer, graduate, and international recruitment, marketing, event planning, and orientation programming.

Classification Standard Duties: As relevant to the role, participates in the planning and execution of annual recruitment strategies. Develops marketing initiatives, recruitment materials, travel itineraries, and analyzes recruitment data. Conducts campus tours, presentations, and engages in tele-recruiting and e-recruiting. Collaborates with various University departments and faculty. Shares relevant information in compliance with applicable laws and University policies, including the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Provides guidance to students and families regarding educational pathways, admissions, orientation, registration, and related policies. May assess admissibility for Non-Degree and Freshman applicants. Travel may be necessary based on recruitment area assignment. Offers policy interpretation and guidance as needed, adhering to university policy and accreditation standards.

Required Education, Experience, Certification/License, Equivalency

Required Education:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field

Associate's Degree and two (2) years of experience related to the standard duties outlined; Required Certification/License: One.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

KNOWLEDGE:
Familiarity with current industry best practices, customer service standards, and system-wide admissions policies. Understanding of university academic units, curricula, and programs. Knowledge of student records management principles and policies. Awareness of recruitment and retention challenges at national, regional, and local levels.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, particularly in public speaking. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Strong time management and organizational skills. Effective use of student information systems and customer relationship management tools. Skills in database management and general office administration.

Job Duties and Responsibilities


Acts as a representative of the University or Community College to various audiences, including prospective students and their families, applicants, newly admitted students, P-12 school district students and staff, community college students and staff, business and community members, University faculty and staff, and alumni.

Organizes student admission and registration activities for the central university division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management. Serves as a key liaison for transfer student recruitment, orientation, and retention initiatives. Reviews and compiles student applications and data across the university.

Contributes to the development of program resources and the establishment of program goals and protocols.

May be tasked with maintaining official academic records, evaluating transcripts, advising potential students on admissions, orientation, and registration requirements, and implementing relevant student policies.
