Classification Summary: Acts as a representative of the University or Community College, engaging with diverse audiences, including prospective students and their families, applicants, newly admitted students, P-12 school district students and staff, community college students and staff, business and community members, University faculty and staff, and alumni. Responsible for overseeing recruitment efforts within designated territories, which may involve extensive travel during peak recruitment seasons. Guides prospective students and their families through the admissions process. Cultivates and maintains strong relationships with key stakeholders in the recruitment area. Assists in all facets of admissions, including undergraduate, transfer, graduate, and international recruitment, marketing and communications, event planning, orientation programming, family engagement activities, campus visits, etc.
Classification Standard Duties: As relevant to the role, reviews and processes applications. Participates in the development and execution of annual recruitment, application, and enrollment strategies. Creates marketing materials, recruitment publications, and communication plans, along with travel itineraries and the collection and analysis of recruitment data. Conducts campus tours, formal and informal presentations, tele-recruiting, and e-recruiting. Collaborates with various University departments, faculty, and staff. Disseminates essential information in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and University policies, including the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Advises students and families on educational opportunities, admissions, orientation, registration, and other policies and procedures. May assess Non-Degree and Freshman eligibility for admission. Extensive travel may be necessary based on recruitment territory assignments. Provides guidance on policy interpretation and advisement as appropriate, in line with university policy, accreditation standards, and privacy laws.
Required Education, Experience, Certification/License, Equivalency
Required Education:
Bachelor's degree in a related field

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
KNOWLEDGE:
Familiarity with current industry best practices, customer service standards, system-wide admissions policies, and procedures. Understanding of the full range of university academic units, curricula, and programs. Knowledge of student records management principles, policies, and procedures. Awareness of national, regional, and local student recruitment and retention challenges.

Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills, particularly in public speaking. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications. Strong time and resource management abilities. Effective use of student information systems and customer relationship management systems. Skills in database and records management. May be responsible for maintaining official academic records, evaluating transcripts, advising potential students on admissions, orientation, and registration requirements, and administering relevant student policies.
