Position Overview:

In the role of Unit Secretary within the Emergency Care Center, you will be responsible for executing essential clerical tasks that facilitate the smooth operation of a patient care unit, all while adhering to the established protocols and procedures of the Nursing Department.

Qualifications:

A. Educational Background and Skills

A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred; completion of a recognized Ward Clerk training program is required.

B. Professional Experience

A minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Ward Clerk is necessary unless certification is held. Prior experience in a hospital setting for at least six (6) months is advantageous.

C. Certifications and Licenses

• Proficiency in required computer skills must be demonstrated within the first month of employment. Basic typing skills and prior computer experience are preferred.

• For roles involving telemetry and/or critical care, successful completion of a basic dysrhythmia course for unlicensed personnel is required within one month or upon the first available opportunity.

• AHA BLS certification must be obtained within two (2) weeks of starting the position.

Employment Type:

Per Diem, as needed.
