POSITION TITLE: Universal Banker

REPORTS TO: Branch Operations Supervisor

CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full Time

WORK SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:30pm

BREAKS: One (1) paid 15-minute break for every four (4) hours worked, plus one (1) unpaid sixty (60) minute meal break.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Universal Banker is responsible for providing exceptional service to clients as they enter the branch. This role involves identifying client needs and offering a range of banking services through a proactive sales approach. Building rapport and trust with clients is essential to exceed their expectations. The position requires adherence to bank policies and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Welcome clients as they arrive in the branch lobby. Present banking products and services, and direct clients to the appropriate area or team member.
  2. Possess comprehensive knowledge of general banking products and services, assisting clients in a friendly and professional manner.
  3. Identify existing clients who may benefit from additional banking products/services and proactively engage them for further business opportunities.
  4. Process savings, checking, and loan transactions with minimal assistance, ensuring accurate posting and balancing of transactions.
  5. Cash checks in accordance with bank policies.
  6. Provide operational support by managing vault cash, processing cash shipments, and handling wire transfers.
  7. Understand the balancing process to maintain an accurate cash drawer and prepare end-of-day deposits.
  8. Maintain the Bank's Customer Information File (CIF) system and report any discrepancies.
  9. Explain online banking services to clients, ensuring they understand how to utilize these tools.
  10. Familiarize oneself with bank policies, procedures, and relevant computer systems.
  11. Utilize computer systems to assist clients with various banking services, including stop payments and account research.
  12. Respond to client inquiries or refer them to the appropriate department, ensuring follow-through on all requests.
  13. Manage special projects as assigned, gathering data and preparing reports for management review.
  14. Maintain organized paper filing systems for easy access to necessary documents.
  15. Provide backup support to the Business Courier as needed.
  16. Assist with coverage for other branches when required.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

  1. Take on various departmental responsibilities in the absence of team members or during peak times.
  2. Complete assigned compliance training and adhere to the Bank's BSA/AML policies.
  3. Support Client Services Advisors in account openings across all product lines, ensuring compliance with necessary documentation.
  4. Assist in managing client accounts, including opening and closing certificates of deposit and safe deposit boxes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
  2. One (1) year of experience in cash handling and customer service.
  3. Professional demeanor with a high level of energy.
  4. Team-oriented with strong communication skills.
  5. Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  6. Proficient in reading and interpreting technical documents.
  7. Intermediate computer skills to meet job requirements.
  8. Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  9. Ability to work independently while handling confidential information.
  10. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Basic knowledge of banking products and regulations gained through prior experience in a financial institution.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  2. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
