Position Overview

Under general supervision, the Budgeting and Financial Reporting Analyst is responsible for the creation and maintenance of diverse financial databases. This role involves preparing regular and specialized financial reports and analyses, monitoring financial transactions, and developing budgets. The analyst will also assist in the enhancement and upkeep of reporting systems.

The analyst prepares invoices and manages accounts receivable records for external contractors, as well as generating monthly productivity reports for faculty. This position entails the development, preparation, and administration of contracts, bids, and proposals that align with specifications and adhere to all relevant policies and regulations. The analyst supports or engages in contract negotiations with suppliers, partners, or clients, ensuring that all one-time startup and pass-through fees are accurately accounted for.

Additionally, the analyst reviews contract terms to identify potential risks or compliance issues and examines supporting materials and agreement documents related to bids or contracts, providing necessary guidance. Acting as a liaison between the organization and subcontractors, the analyst ensures effective implementation of contracts and maintains contract records to guarantee compliance with reporting and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure verification of indirect costs, professional, and technical fees are accurately applied, and all one-time startup and pass-through fees are accounted for.
  • Validate that Investigator and Study Team efforts are appropriately included and accounted for.
  • Collaborate with sponsors to negotiate budgets based on local patient and non-patient costs.
  • Create and maintain various databases while preparing routine and ad hoc financial reports and analyses for different leadership levels.
  • Ensure proper invoicing procedures and maintain accurate accounts receivable records, adhering to necessary reporting needs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, complemented by three years of budgetary experience in an academic or clinical research environment. A proven track record of collaboration with Principal Investigators and familiarity with payment setup processes is essential.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $57,760 to $80,000, depending on experience, alongside a comprehensive benefits package that includes vacation and sick leave, health/dental/vision/life insurance, a 403B retirement savings plan with matching contributions, tuition remission, an employee assistance program, and a wellness program.
