Job Overview

We are looking for a meticulous and knowledgeable Compliance Specialist to become a vital member of our compliance team at VRC Companies, LLC. This role is essential in guaranteeing that our organization complies with all relevant regulatory mandates, industry benchmarks, and internal protocols concerning the privacy, confidentiality, and security of client data.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Design, execute, and sustain thorough compliance initiatives to ensure alignment with federal, state, and local laws, including but not limited to HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA, and NAID standards.
  • Keep abreast of modifications in applicable regulations and standards, revising policies and procedures as necessary.
  • Perform routine audits and evaluations of compliance practices, pinpointing and rectifying any instances of noncompliance.
  • Work collaboratively with various departments to ensure that compliance mandates are woven into all operational activities.
  • Deliver training and support to staff on compliance-related subjects, fostering a culture of adherence and ethical conduct.
  • Investigate and address compliance-related issues and incidents, ensuring proper documentation and reporting.
  • Maintain precise and current records of all compliance activities, audits, and training sessions.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of necessary regulatory reports and documentation.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in compliance and risk management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Legal Studies, Information Management, or a related discipline.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a compliance position, ideally within the records and information management sector.
  • Thorough understanding of federal and state regulations concerning information privacy and security (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA).
  • Familiarity with industry standards and guidelines, such as NAID and ISO 27001.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of providing clear and concise guidance.
