Your Role

Position Summary:

The Permit Manager will conduct research and prepare necessary documentation for permits, rights of way, easements, and land use related to large-scale infrastructure initiatives. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure the submission of accurate and compliant information to project and construction management teams, municipalities, and contractors within designated timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide and mentor the permitting team to enhance their skills.
  • Assess and communicate performance improvements for each team member.
  • Assist engineering teams by updating them on jurisdictional changes and providing training for new engineers.
  • Develop a permit matrix outlining requirements based on construction methods and environments across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Provide permitting expertise and support to both internal and external clients.
  • Generate standards and ad-hoc reports for management review.
  • Maintain the permitting tracker to ensure all statuses and updates are current.
  • Procure permitting materials as necessary.
  • Deliver status updates to relevant client contacts while upholding a high standard of professionalism and customer service.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

General:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in permitting within a wireline, wireless, or telecommunications engineering/construction environment preferred.
  • Proven ability to foster relationships with jurisdictions to facilitate the permitting process.
  • Capability to ensure accurate depiction and location of existing and new substructures and aerial facilities according to jurisdictional standards.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Microstation, Adobe Acrobat Pro, or other PDF editing tools; ability to quickly learn new systems.
  • Experience in personnel management is preferred.
  • Self-motivated, deadline-oriented, and technically adept.
  • Strong team collaboration skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changes in schedules and priorities.
  • Critical thinking capabilities to assess situations and propose solutions.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism in a dynamic work environment.
  • Commitment to providing superior customer service.

Technical:

  • Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of the telecommunications industry.
