About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Banquet Captain to join our team at Virgin Hotels New York. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to take on a leadership role in managing our dining operations.

Job Description

The Banquet Captain will be responsible for ensuring seamless execution of events, from start to finish. This includes coordinating with the culinary team, managing logistics, and maintaining exceptional customer service standards.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in event management, excellent communication skills, and the ability to think critically in high-pressure situations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning and execution of events, including banquets, weddings, and corporate functions
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to create customized menus and ensure seamless delivery
  • Manage event timelines, coordinate logistics, and oversee setup and teardown
  • Maintain open communication with clients, staff, and vendors to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction
  • Conduct daily meetings with the event team to review progress and address any concerns
Requirements
  • At least 1 year of experience in a similar role, preferably in a luxury hotel or fine dining establishment
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple deadlines
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures
  • Familiarity with Point of Sale (POS) systems and inventory management software
