Key Responsibilities

The CNC Field Service Technician will possess a solid understanding of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics to effectively troubleshoot and resolve issues related to electrical and mechanical components. The primary responsibilities include:

  • Traveling daily to customer sites, with overnight stays as necessary for servicing remote locations or attending training sessions.
  • Installing, commissioning, calibrating, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing CNC machinery and associated equipment at client facilities. This includes operator training, system networking, software applications, preventive maintenance, major assembly replacements, overhauls, upgrades, and uninstallations.
  • Exhibiting a collaborative spirit and contributing positively as a team member.
  • Ensuring accurate documentation and maintaining daily communication with office management. Updating the status of machine issues, repairs, and installations using the Salesforce Lightning Customer Support system.
  • Maintaining comprehensive knowledge of the machine tool industry and the product lines offered by the company.
  • Promoting and executing preventive maintenance while effectively diagnosing and resolving CNC equipment challenges to meet customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of one year of experience with a machine tool manufacturer or distributor; experience as a factory maintenance technician is also acceptable.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with excellent customer relations abilities.
  • Ability to interact effectively in person and over the phone with customers and colleagues.
  • Professional demeanor and appearance.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in response to changes and challenges.
  • Basic proficiency in digital tools, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Willingness to develop electro-mechanical skills (motors, drives, transformers, etc.).
  • Knowledge of machine tool manufacturing, installation, operation, maintenance, and repair is advantageous.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and logical problem-solving skills, with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing environments, which may present hazards such as noise, electricity, chemicals, and heavy machinery.
