We are currently seeking a proactive and skilled Legal Secretary to support our highly regarded Business Litigation Practice Group. In this pivotal role, you will assist two esteemed partners, contributing significantly to our firm's success and client relations.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver comprehensive administrative support to two partners within the Business Litigation practice group.
  • Provide specialized legal and administrative assistance focused on business litigation areas, including automotive, corporate disputes, product liability, financial services, and shareholder matters.
  • Manage both electronic and physical filing systems, draft correspondence, organize documentation, and coordinate meetings.
  • Calendar Management: Oversee litigation calendars for two attorneys, ensuring meticulous organization of court dates, filing deadlines, and other critical dates.
  • Communication Liaison: Address inquiries from legal and administrative personnel, directing them to appropriate team members.
  • Trial Preparation: Facilitate trial, hearing, and deposition readiness by organizing exhibits, preparing trial binders, and ensuring all necessary materials are available for court proceedings.
  • Legal Documentation: File legal documents with court dockets and serve documents to opposing parties in accordance with court rules and procedures.
  • File Organization: Maintain orderly electronic and physical files for easy access by attorneys and team members.
  • Client Interaction: Act as a primary contact for clients, delivering exceptional service and promptly addressing their needs.
  • File Management: Keep client files organized and current, ensuring easy retrieval while adhering to confidentiality standards.
  • Schedule Coordination: Manage attorney schedules, including meeting arrangements, appointments, and court dates, while ensuring compliance with deadlines.
  • Legal Research: Conduct research to support case preparation, providing attorneys with relevant information and updates on applicable laws and regulations.
  • Administrative Support: Assist with general administrative tasks such as filing, billing, and correspondence to ensure the efficient operation of the practice group.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: A minimum of 4 years supporting Litigation Attorneys or Practice Groups.
  • Education: An Associate's degree or certification in paralegal studies is preferred, though relevant experience is also considered.
  • Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal abilities with a sharp attention to detail.
  • Attributes: Proactive, resourceful, and capable of thriving in a dynamic, high-pressure environment.
  • Technology: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, legal research databases, and case management software.
