Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Surgical Scheduling Coordinator to join our team at The Center for Orthopedic and Research Excellence. The successful candidate will be responsible for scheduling surgical procedures, pre and post-operative appointments, and ensuring that all necessary information is updated in our system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule surgical procedures and pre and post-operative appointments
  • Update system with changes or additions to scheduling template
  • Provide ongoing communication with patients regarding pre-certification, authorization, and scheduling process
  • Ensure canceled appointments and related ancillary appointments are canceled and communicated to all stakeholders
  • Provide clinical and technical guidance to team members
  • Assist team in maintaining metrics, covering for schedulers out of the office, and organizing coverage plans
  • Monitor productivity and performance of assigned employees, including coaching and providing guidance on process improvement
  • Ensure team's daily tasks are worked on and submitted promptly and accurately

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3 or more years experience in a Surgery Scheduling role
  • Ability to communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and the public
  • Establish good working relationships with internal and external customers

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of medical clinic operations and scheduling
  • Federal, state, and HIPAA privacy regulations
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and office procedures

Working Conditions:

  • Sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment
  • Some bending and stretching required
  • Manual dexterity using a calculator and computer keyboard
