Part-time Faculty Opportunities


DePaul University welcomes expressions of interest for a pool of qualified Adjunct Instructors to teach courses across various disciplines in all 10 colleges and schools.

Individuals may express their interest by submitting their credentials for any relevant postings.

Listings are organized by college/school and department. The screening of individuals in the pool is ongoing, based on curricular needs and available funding.

Departments will reach out to individuals if they reach the finalist stage for teaching specific courses.

The pool will remain active until the closing date specified in the posting details; those wishing to stay in the pool beyond that time must reapply.

All individuals in the pool will receive notifications via email when the posting is closed.

Responsibilities:

The Department of Anthropology within the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences at DePaul University invites expressions of interest for part-time faculty teaching roles for the academic year.

Such roles may or may not be available at any given time, and this application process is designed to create a pool of potential candidates for when a position becomes available.

We regularly hire part-time faculty, and applicants whose expertise aligns with our needs will be contacted for interviews.

Our department is dedicated to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and we value the unique contributions that each faculty member, staff, and student brings to our community.

Applicants should be at the ABD stage of their doctoral program or possess a PhD in Anthropology (preferred), and have a proven record of effective teaching at the university level.

We are particularly interested in candidates who can teach anthropology in general education programs to non-major audiences and engage a diverse student body.

Upon hiring, we will collaborate with selected individuals to establish a mutually agreeable schedule on a quarterly basis.

While courses are not guaranteed, the Department strives to provide ample notice regarding available courses and potential cancellations.


Required Qualifications:

1. A minimum of one year of teaching experience at the collegiate level.
2. ABD or PhD in Anthropology, with a PhD preferred.
3. Demonstrated experience in teaching within a diverse learning environment.
